Senior Global Marketing Strategist

What We’re Looking For:

The Senior Global Marketing Strategist is responsible for creating and executing vertical and functional specific marketing strategies to acquire and move customers through the entire marketing funnel across all 2U B2C products. The Senior Global Marketing Strategist is responsible for working across the marketing organization to create and implement insights-driven marketing strategies, in the form of best practices, toolkits and vertical based campaigns for customization at a university partner level, driving efficiency of resourcing and effectiveness of marketing investment.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Creation of vertical-specific marketing growth drivers, based on consumer and customer insights: Leverage deep consumer insights to customize overall marketing growth drivers at a vertical level, creating best practice marketing toolkits for all stages of the funnel (awareness/ consideration/ conversion).  Work with GMS peers to understand effective tools at each stage of the funnel, ensuring functional best practices are applied at each stage. Develop vertical-specific marketing toolkits for various phases of the product life cycle (new launch/ refresh/ etc) to allow for ease of customization at a university partner level.  Ensure toolkits include touchpoints for all elements of the customer journey and are implementable at an integrated communications approach. Responsible for overall success of the allocated vertical/s, from a marketing strategy perspective.

Functional ownership: Collaborate with relevant cross functional teams to own and drive best practices across multiple functional areas( (i.e. email/ pricing / etc).  Develop guidelines, best practices, and toolkits to be used  across verticals and products for customization at a vertical level and/or partner level. Ensure GMS team members have an in-depth understanding of the functional area and that when functional areas are viewed holistically they are aligned and focussed on the same goals.  

Collaborate with partner marketing/ marketing operations and creative marketing: Ensure that strong collaboration with enabling organizations is achieved through the understanding of university context & team requirements, aligned to vertical and functional area ownership. Ensure that vertical and functional growth drivers are correctly defined for the context and practically applicable.  Ensure that efficiency is created through providing outputs that are relevant, useable and implementation friendly allowing for ease of execution

Contribute to team ways of work and functional best practices: Proactively support the team by contributing ideas and improvements on operational best practices, team way of work and innovative approaches and insights to deliver on our department goals.   

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in consumer insights, strategy, digital marketing strategy or digital brand/ product marketing.  
  • Experience working with internal creative teams, briefing of creative asset development.
  • Ability to translate strategy to implementation & develop growth drivers to creative execution.
  • Strong analytical capability, ability to combine disparate data sources to provide a rounded view of the problem at hand.
  • Strong collaboration and prioritization skills.
  • Business degree with a marketing specialization  
  • Experience working in a global, remote/ hybrid team desirable.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($85,000-$95,000), with potential bonus and equity eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
